Color me shocked...

Three of us went on a walkthrough this morning at the in-mid-construction new building for Hartford's Sport and Medical Sciences Academy. I was really, really pleased. Things we have worked hard over the past couple of years to get the construction teams to embrace -- our standards for voice/data cabling, placement of phones, and sizing of network rooms -- seem to have found fertile ground.

The network rooms were large to the point of spacious. The boxes for the wall phones were at the correct ADA mandated heights. There were air conditioners hanging from the ceilings in the MDF and the IDFs, and they even (plan to) put our rooms on the emergency generator.

I don't know what to say. It's like the Great Pumpkin rose out of the pumpkin patch a day early and handed out wonderful gifts to all of the good network boys and girls! ;-)

  • Saved by the Dell

In the past couple of years Dell made sealed keyboards standard on the Latitude line. This makes them very spill resistant, as I discovered last…
