In honor of it being "reveiw time"...

I bring you this wonderful gem. It first came to me in the early '90s as a Xerox joke (remember those?). Some time ago I typed it up in Word so that it's uplifting goodness could go on for ever and ever.

Review and Performance Evaluation

When I read it, I hear it in George Carlin's voice (the early George, back when he was still funny). I actually handed one of these to someone in a review meeting. He got down to the second or third item before he realized that I was gassing him...

That made me laugh harder than I've laughed in a while- loud enough to waken the Wonder Chicken and get myself a scolding...

I've seen some variants of this over the years- yes, all xeroxed- but it had that newly-read quality that some things regain after a sufficiently long absence.

Especially funny in the face of the careful wording I often use as an edumacator when counseling the less successful students in my classes...

seeing that graphic (head cleaved by hatchet) brings up an audio memory from a Pink Floyd track, a voice softly speaking, "be careful with that axe, Eugene".

Man, I cannot even remember what medium I last heard that on... vinyl, tape, CD? Yep, gettin' old..
